Can I see Citrus Perform before making my decision?

Certainly, we provide an opportunity for clients to see us at least every 3-4 weeks. If we don't have a public performance happening, then we will book a  sound studio and hold a private viewing night (anyone welcome, by appointment), to give any prospective clients a chance to see us live. At either our public gigs or private viewing nights, we welcome a chance to have a chat with you and answer any questions you may have, so please don't be shy.. come up and sey hello!

Should I see Citrus Perform before making my decision?

It's certainly not necessary to come down to a live show or viewing, especially if you do not live close by. Our website is designed to give you all the information you need to make your decision. In fact, we regularly take bookings directly off our website, from interstate and overseas couples who are marrying in Melbourne, as well as from busy people who do not have time to attend a performance on a weeknight.

After a booking is confirmed, there is a lot of communication between you and the band, both by email and phone, and plenty of opportunity to discuss music choices and any other details concerning the function. We are always readily available to speak to  you and assist you with any queries you may have, and happy to offer advice.

Can we choose the songs you play for our function?

Yes, we are happy for you to look through our extensive song list and highlight or mark all your favourites, and we will endeavour to play as many of your selections as we can possibly fit in on the night.

When making your selection please keep in mind that, in order for the function to be successful and to ensure your dance-floor is full, the song choices need to suit a variety of age groups from teens upwards. As seasoned performers, we have experience and instinct which allows us to 'read the crowd' and determine the songs that are going to 'get the party going', and when left to make the decision ourselves, we rarely fail !!!! Therefore we strongly advise that you trust in us to choose the best songs to entertain all your guests, however we will happily accomodate any requests you may have from our songlist.

What about if we request songs that are not currently on your Song List?

We are usually happy to acommodate a request at no extra cost, wherever possible, particularly if it's for a special part of the function (such as a Birthday song or First Dance, etc.). However we do have to limit this to one or two songs per function. There is a great deal of time involved in programming backing music, learning and rehearsing a new song (anything from 3 to 8 hours per song), therefore it would be impossible to learn any more than 1 or 2 per function, without charging an additional fee.

How long do you play for, and is there music played in between your sets?

Our fee covers a standard function of 4.5 to 5.5 hours. This includes our arrival at least an hour prior to guest arrival time, background music being played during the pre-dinner drinks, and approximately 4 x 45 minute sets of music during the function. However we understand that formalitlies and meals can greatly vary in time, and are happy to remain flexible with our sets to fit in with the night's proceedings. For example, if speeches take longer than expected and we have shorter  sets and longer breaks early in the function, we will happily make it up by playing longer dance sets later on. Any time we are off stage, unless speeches or presentations are happening, we have a wide selection of background music we can play through our system.

Do we need to provide the band with a meal?

Yes, it's an industry standard that any band, DJ, photographer, MC or videographer be provided with minimum of a main meal and drinks.

However we do ask you to keep in mind that we are there for approximately 2 hours longer than your guests (including set-up and pack-up). That is an average of 8 hours plus driving to and from the function can often add 2 more hours to this!!.... now imagine how many further hours the Videographer has to work as they often start first thing in the morning and don't finish until the end of the function.

Setting up, performing for several hours, then packing up all the equipment is very energetic work... therefore we do appreciate it when we are seated at a talbe and treated like other guests, which also allows us to 'bond' with our audience and results in better perfomances.

Many Melborune venues now have a policy that entertainers must be treated as guests, however others can go in the opposite direction, and forget that 'we are people too'!!

Like most civilised people we also appreciate a glass of wine or beer with our meal. We assure you that, as experienced award-winning entertainers, we never have or ever will abuse this by drinking more than a glass to two throughout the night!
