Citrus is the collaboration of some of Melbourne’s finest entertainers, whose professionalism, commitment and achievements in the field of Wedding & Function Entertainment span many years and numerous awards!
Debbi Arpini (Lead & Backing Vocals, MC, Ceremony Vocals) has been performing in Melbourne’s Wedding Entertainment scene for over 10 years as lead singer, founding member and manager of established and respected band Hey Sister!, having won several Australian Bridal Industry Awards including “Best Live Entertainment” and “Best Ceremony Music”, and "Best Master of Ceremonies" . Debbi's voice has been described as Soulful, Rich and Versatile... allowing her to deliver accurate and dynamic performances on any style of music, from emotional Love Ballads, to Old-World Jazz standards, as well as powerful R&B and Dance Vocals. Debbi is an experienced session vocalist, and has performed both live and on studio recordings for many of Australia's great talents, including: Maria Forde, Russell Morris, David Jaanz (vocal coach to Delta Goodrem and many other Australian recording stars), and Bachelor Girl's James Roche. Debbi regularly lends her vocals to album recordings, jingles and voice-overs, and has also appeared on "Good Morning Australia"
Gilbert Ernest (Lead & Backing Vocals, Guitar) was the founding member of another well respected and ABIA Award-Winning Duo, Bisous. A recording artiste in his native Mauritius with his eight piece band “The Revivals”, Gilbert also has a versatile voice which suits a range of styles from Rock & Roll through to Jazz, Reggae and soulful ballads. Gilbert has performed in Mauritius (including a performance for Prince Charles & Princess Diana), Los Angeles, Sydney, Townsville, Canberra, Auckland and Brisbane, as well as some high-profile Melbourne appearances including Crown Palladium with the 23 Piece Police Big Band. Gilbert is a man of many talents producing an artist than can best be described as supremely entertaining. During performances, his character and personality shine. He is dynamic, energetic and interactive and is renowned for his uncanny ability to entice his audience onto the dance floor, guaranteeing the success of a function. With the help of a cordless microphone, Gilbert moves amongst the crowd encouraging them on to the dance floor early in the function and ensuring they stay there long into the night. In addition to his vocal skills and dynamic performance, Gilbert plays guitar and keyboards live, and personally sequences all of Citrus’ backing music.
Danny Ammar (Keyboards, Lead & Backing Vocals) is an ccomplished singer and keyboardist with over 15 years experience in the entertainment industry. Danny has worked in various bands as a singer and keyboardist, from duo’s, trios right up to big band settings.Originally from Sydney, Danny has worked with some of the top Sydney bands including Stolen Moments, Sax Appeal, Groove Frontier, and The Endless Summer Beach Party to name a few. He has worked in some of the most respected venues in Sydney. Some of these include the Sebel Pier 1, Quay restaurant, MCA and the Hilton.
Danny has worked with the cream of Australian music professionals such as Kerrie Biddell (John Farnham, Rick Price), Peter Northcote (Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll) and international drumming legend Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa, Barbara Streisand, James Taylor). Danny's fresh and innovative approach to his music shines through in his performances.
Nigel Maas (Saxophone, Backing Vocals) is one of Melbourne's finest, most experienced and hardest-working Saxophone and Woodwind players. By day Nigel teaches music in some of Melbourne's best private Secondary Colleges, including Wesley College, where he directs the Concert Band and Big Band. In addition, Nigel has built a very successful career in the music industry where he has appeared in several television performances including The Footy Show, Denise & Good Morning Australia. and the Good Friday Appeal. He has backed many local and International artists such as: Thelma Houston, Glen Shorrock, Jimmy Barnes, Rhonda Burchmore, Marcia Hines, Rob Guest, Kamahl, Ross Wilson, Kate Ceberano, Joe Camilleri, Wilbur Wilde, and Max Merritt to name a few....Nigel's smooth Jazz grooves and Funky solo's, combined with his exceptional talent for improvisation, complements all aspects of Citrus' sound. Nigel further compliments the Citrus sound with his versatile lead and backing vocal abilities, making him a valuable addition to the band.
